The vacation rental:

Smuggler’s End is attached to The Blackwaterfoot Lodge, a small family run and very friendly hotel, 50 yards or so from Blackwaterfoot’s picturesque harbour and about half a mile from the sandy Blackwaterfoot beach and the unique 12 hole links golf course. Visitors to the cottage can use the hotel restaurant and bar and have priority in the restaurant over non-residents.

Description of journey:

From Glasgow Airport Take a bus or taxi from the airport to Paisley Gilmour street railway station, thence a train to Ardrossan Harbour. The train connects with the ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick (on Arran). At Brodick take the “String Road” bus to Blackwaterfoot. By Car Aim for Ardrossan - follow the signs to “Arran Ferry”. It is advisable to book space for your car on the ferry. Alternatively, you can leave your car in the secure carpark at the ferry terminal in Ardrossan and travel by foot on the steamer. If you need a car (or a bike) on the island rent one in Brodick or Blackwaterfoot.
